Why Waste This Precious Short Life in Hate?

To some folks I would like to say,

Who've made hate their life's way:

If there’s one thing you just love, it is to hate.

To be mean and spiteful you’ve made your fate.

To hate it seems is your life's creed,

Hate drives almost your every deed:

Hate based on gender, religion or nationality,

On class, caste, skin colour or sexuality.

It seems hate is that for which you live,

Hate’s alone what to the world you give.

As someone who cares, I’d like to say,

“Don’t ruin your precious life this way,

This one chance God has given you here,

On this Earth, that lasts a few days mere.

What a horrible waste it is, don’t you see,

To spend your life in hate, a real tragedy,

Squandering the short life you’ve been given,

By deep-rooted hate to be insanely driven.”

You may tell me to shut up and not interfere,

Appeals not to hate you might refuse to hear.

Even so, there’s something I must say

To you, even if hate it you well may:

“The Lord who brought us all into being

Notes our every action, being all-seeing.

Not a thing is hidden from Him, you should know.

He’ll make us reap the fruits of all actions we sow.”

And so, please know that every time you hate

You are creating for yourself a painful fate:

While here on Earth, or in the Afterlife

You’ll have to suffer for your hate and strife.

Knowing this maybe you will now refrain

From hating others and causing them pain.

Now that you know we’ll get what we give,

It might teach you a different way to live:

To stop your hating at once and also grow in love,

Knowing we’ll one day face Him who's within all and above.

Wonderful way to creating awareness on how hate can destroy the person who hates
