Let Me Use Words When Necessary, But…

A servant’s task it is to listen and obey,

And to do just as his master might say.

He stands before his master in silence,

Waiting on him for his wise guidance.

To his master’s every word he pays full heed,

Talking only when there’s a pressing need.

Aware that his master knows best,

Sometimes, though, he might make a request,

Or, occasionally engage in his master’s praise,

And give him thanks for his generous grace.

But as his master’s faithful general factotum,

‘Listen silently and obey’ is his general dictum.

Musing on all this I can now say

That I must change how I pray.

Let me use words when necessary, but

When not needed, let me keep my mouth shut,

And then let my praying to God, the Great Master, be

More of listening to whatever He says to me.

Very sweet poem. Wise poem and beautiful message in the poem. We gotta learn from animals and birds, they don't open their beakys unnecessarily! Kittys mew only when necessary!🥰😺😺😺🐈🐆🐆 Chinku and her friends Jinju and Mickey
