More Than This, What Can One Say?

What if this world is a dream mere,

And not truly real as it does appear,

And things and beings of all sorts

Are all actually just so many thoughts

Floating about for a while in God’s mind,

Thoughts of almost every conceivable kind,

And all that we ourselves appear to do

Is He through His thoughts making us to,

And all situations here, and all events,

In His grand mind He Himself invents,

Through mere thought causing them to be

In a dream that He watches most gleefully?

What if the world’s a dream He’s spun

Just so that He can have some fun?

Maybe it’s all Him simply at play.

More than this, what can one say?
