Now Do Please Tell Me if All of This is True!

This afternoon, after lunch, as on my bed I lay,
I looked through the window, watching You play.
I saw You high above, as a bit of grey-blue sky,
And as the big, broad building located close by,
And as the row of trees standing bold and tall,
And as the birds engaged in soft, sweet call,
And as the swarm of bees in a massive hive
(How You give a home to everything alive!).
Â
I saw You, too, as a basketball pillar high,
And as vehicles below, slowly passing by,
And as a beautiful red flower-filled crown,
And as dainty petals gently twirling down,
And as a leaf-cluster of parrot green hue:
All these forms so many I took to be You.
Â
It wasn’t that for me this was a novel sight,
For it’s quite the same every day and night.
It was only that maybe I had never before
Thought all this could be anything more
Than an ordinary scene, special in no way,
Something of the sort one sees every day,
Unaware that it had so much more to say,
Not knowing it was actually You busy at play!
But today it came to be as a revelation maybe new,
That all I saw before me was none other than You!
Â
From this a great lesson I got to learn,
A precious truth I was led to discern:
Wherever at any moment we happen to be,
In all that’s around us You we can see.
Yes, we can see You even while lying on a bed
And looking through a window at what’s ahead,
Beholding all we see and knowing it’s but You
(Now do please tell me if all of this is true!).
