Remain Content in Your Heart’s Cave to Stay

I told myself, "Now, please understand,

Your roaming about is getting out of hand.

Why needlessly travel? What’ll you gain?

Spare yourself the bother and strain

Of going somewhere else only to find

That it’s been just a trick of your mind

And that what you’re looking for lies, in fact,

Inside your own self, preserved fully intact.

So, don’t needlessly wander here and there,

Hoping to find what you seek elsewhere.

Just stay in the place you’re now in

And find what you seek deep within.

Remain where you presently are,

Don’t leave it for some place far.

Make the pilgrimage to the cave of your heart,

From where there’s no need ever to depart.

Dwell only there, wherever you might be,

In this your very own Divine sanctuary.

Living contentedly in this your real home,

Why elsewhere should you foolishly roam?

Delight in this monastery located within,

Knowing that it's the only place to be in.

Remain happy and content there to stay

Till arrives, finally, your very last day,

When your part’s over in the cosmic show

And to Him you are called back to go."
