The Purpose of the Creation

By MY Kay

If this world in which we presently are is correctly understood as a purposeful world, the awareness will emerge in a person that he should mould himself in accordance with the purpose that is behind the universe. It is this that is called a ‘responsible life’. And it is the consciousness of the need to lead a responsible life that is the real motivating factor or trigger for all human virtues.

In contrast to this, if this present world is assumed to be a purposeless world, a person will lack any awareness that there is some purpose behind our existence and that we should mould our life in accordance with it. Thereafter, it is but natural that such a person will fall prey to the idea of unbridled freedom, which is undoubtedly the root of all evils.

Now the thing to see is which of these two points of view is more in harmony with human nature and has greater consonance with the collective system of the universe. If the matter is looked at in this sense, one will unhesitatingly have to agree that the creation of the universe has taken place in line with a purposeful plan. The ideology of purposelessness is not in consonance with the basic structure of the universe. And that is why it just cannot be true.

Human nature demands that good actions be met with a good recompense and that evil actions be suitably punished. This being the case, if the universe is not accepted as purposeful, it would go completely against this vital demand of human nature. To declare the universe to be purposeless is to give man such a world to live in that is not in accordance with the deep-seated demands of his innate nature.

The structure of the extremely vast universe has been clearly established in a clearly very purposeful manner. The fact is that the world does not accept any purposeless explanation of itself. In this world, only that worldview is an authentic one that bestows on man awareness of the purposefulness of the universe, and, along with it, the purposefulness of life in the universe, too, including his own.
