This One Request, God, Please Satisfy

You willed that I be here today,

Here on Earth this day to stay.

Only You know why You made me to.

The decision for it was taken by You.

I've no idea, I just don't know

Why You willed for it be so.

As far as I know, I had no say

In being on Earth yet another day.

(If it were up to me to choose,

I might very likely refuse).

To You, the reason is amply clear

For why today You've kept me here.

So, make me be and do this day

Just as You’ve willed, this I pray.

That’s all that in my prayer I say.

With me today have Your way,

So that each moment I’ll be and do

Just as You have willed me to.

No other prayer for this day have I.
