Into Your Madhouse World Me You Brought

Into Your madhouse world me You brought.

Were my views on this ever sought?

I can’t recall but it could well be so

That the answer to this is simply ‘No!’

Whatever the case might actually be

(Not I but You know the reality),

I’ve been here now almost sixty years,

In this Your world of smiles and tears.

How long You’ll keep me here

I have not the faintest idea.

It isn’t that I really pine to stay,

Nor do I beg to be taken away.

Keep me here as long as You will,

But this one request please fulfill:

Hold me close to You through it all,

And when from here me You recall

Let me in Your bosom so deep

Rest in eternal peaceful sleep.
