Your Idea of ‘Holy Land’ Please Vastly Expand

Cousin tribes from a land far distant

Began to squabble, each most insistent,

Claiming that the land was theirs alone,

All of it, each bit of mud and stone,

That the stretch of hills and desert sand

Was their very own, exclusive ‘holy land’.

Over this piece of land they continued to fight

Down long centuries, and with all their might,

Causing massive loss of truly precious life.

In ‘holy land’s’ name, oh what unholy strife!

O quarreling cousins, now listen, please,

This sibling rivalry of yours at once cease.

Such horrible hate has your squabble unfurled

That it now threatens to overwhelm the world,

In what might become a most deadly war,

Drowning poor Earth in hate, strife and gore.

Your idea of ‘holy land’ at once please revise,

Because, the entire vast universe is God’s guise,

Which means all land that exists is ‘holy land’,

And not just a patch of hills and desert sand.

I plead with you to now please understand

That the whole of the universe is ‘holy land’.

‘Holy land’ is actually just everywhere,

And not just a bit of land somewhere.

So, your idea of ‘holy land’ please vastly expand

To include in the cosmos every bit of land.

This one simple change in your thinking well may

In bringing peace to the tired world go a very long way.
